Following (as promised) the topic of aquatic plants, now I wanted to detail some of the 5 types there.
1. deepwater
• Are the Water Lilies, Lotus ...
• They are in the deepest area of \u200b\u200ba pond, from 40 to 90 cm.
• Place the pot on a few bricks and bring them down as they grow removing these blocks one by one.
• Its leaves provide shade and prevent algae growth that need the sun p ara proliferate, helping and to keep the water clear.
2. Floating
• float on the surface and their roots are loose in the water rather than rooted in pots or in the background.
• was "planted" just throwing them in the water.
• Some of these species multiply rapidly and needs to periodic thinning
3. Oxygenators
• These plants do not have a decorative function in the ponds, although in the aquarium.
• serves to keep clear water. The leaves absorb the minerals and carbon dioxide and this hinders the development of algae.
• remain completely submerged except for the flowers, which may come to the surface.
• plant should be placed 1 oxygen per 0.3 m2 of pond surface. The best is a mixture of several species.
• grow very quickly so you must control development.
4. From shore or margin (swamp)
• They are in the "shelves" of the pool and terraces to the edge, running from 5 to 10 cm. water above the neck. The roots, therefore, are in the water. Most of these species can live without water standing on their roots, but need lots of watering.
• natural inputs the set to make the transition from the pond and garden.
. Plants near the pond
used in landscaping are species that like wet soil, so live wonderfully in the areas closest to the ponds, usually more wet than normal garden soil.
